Eat and Drink at Spark!

Spark is new to York and describes itself an outdoor community space, home to some of York’s most exciting start-ups working in food, retail, arts, and social enterprise.

Spark is open six days a week, Tuesday to Sunday from 12pm. You can pop along at your leisure, and no booking is necessary.

Centred around positive social change, Spark had an ambition to transform Piccadilly, a street that was underutilised and transform it into a vibrant, colourful destination.

Spark is a social enterprise and community interest company – they have no shareholders; therefore all profit is reinvested back into the project and because members do not own shares in the company they cannot personally profit from any increased value in the company.

There are an array of food and drink outlets, and shops at Spark, here are just a few:

Frango Eduardo has an array of Portuguese inspired cuisine – cooked on a coal fired grill, their Piri-Piri chicken is amazing! When you combine this with their salads, slaw and spicy fries you have a fantastic and filling meal..

The Bohemian is York’s smallest piano bar, with a charismatic and artistic feel, you can sample a wide selection of draughts, gins & wines.

The Piccadilly Tap is the largest bar at Spark and is housed, on the first floor North Terrace. Hosting an array of craft options with ten keg lines and a large selection of cans, bottles and spirits, you will be spoilt for choice!

SASA is a lovely family run business who offer comforting, traditional Greek street food. Owner Martin Tsatsas’s Greek roots, and his passion for food have resulted in a truly inspiring creative result.

Get down to York and sample these and many other food and drink offerings at Spark!
